Chevening British Council Scholarship

Chevening is the UK government’s flagship scholarship scheme, aimed at future leaders, high achievers, opinion formers and decision-makers. The programme funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and administered by the British Council, supports over 2,300 international students annually to study in the UK. Many talented graduates and young professional Indonesians have been propelled along the path to success through the British Chevening Awards, which has seen over 1,000 scholarships awarded to Indonesians since the scheme began in 1984.

The Chevening scholarships are offered in over 150 countries and enable talented graduates and young professionals to become familiar with the UK and gain skills which will benefit their own countries. The awards are included tuition, stipend, return airfares (economy class) and other allowances.

Q. What kinds of fellowships are available?
A. Fellowships are as various as the foundations and individuals who create them. Generally, however, they are for one of several purposes:
- undergraduate or graduate study in a given field
- study in a particular geographic location or research facility
- professional development
- dissertation research

Eligibility may sometimes be limited to:
- members of specific racial, ethnic, or gender groups
- residents of a particular region
- members of specific groups or organizations

Q: How do I apply for a scholarship from Harvard?
A: CGS administers a limited number of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students admitted to or currently attending the various schools of Harvard University. The majority of our scholarships are awarded through Harvard financial aid offices to students who have applied for financial aid from their schools. Students do not apply for these scholarships directly to CGS. Rather, financial aid offices must nominate students for CGS scholarships

The application period will be advertised in national and regional newspapers in June/July. Advertisements will briefly explain the program and advise candidates to secure an application from one of several sources including:
Departmental training bureaus;
Governor offices;
Kanwils ;
Kadins;
University rectors;
IDP offices;
IALF offices;
AEC offices;
AusAID Project offices; or
ADS Office in Jakarta.

Fulbright Freeport Master Degree Scholarship Program

Preference will be given to Indonesian citizens from Papua who are faculty members at the state and private institutions of higher education. Applicants will possess:
a Sarjana (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
leadership qualities

1. a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
2. a demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
3. a demonstrated commitment to the development and service of Papua willingness to return to Papua upon completion of the Fulbright program
4. a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
