Bishop’s University is inviting applications for the 2024 Masters Scholarship, which offers fully funded opportunities for students worldwide to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or Agronomy. The scholarship includes a stipend and research funding, designed to support a 2-year thesis-based program in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (SAFS).
Program Details
The selected master’s student will be part of Dr. Vivian Valencia’s Lighthouse Lab, which focuses on sustainable food systems and climate action. The lab includes a diverse team working on research projects aimed at transforming the Quebec agrifood system.
Benefits
- Annual Stipend: $14,000
- Research Funding: $2,000
- Additional Funding: $7,500 per year (through the Graduate Entrance Scholarship if successful)
- Potential Additional Scholarships: FRQ and CGS-M scholarships for the second year of studies
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum average of 75% or equivalent (3.0/4.0 or B-).
- Have a degree in environmental sciences, environmental studies, geography, ecology, sociology, economics, political science, or other relevant fields.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency.
- Provide a cover letter explaining how their education, skills, and research interests align with the Lighthouse Lab’s work.
